AZIENDA AGRICOLA MORI
A passion for cultivating grapes and olives
Podere di Pieve is a family business where a passion for cultivating grapes and olives has become part of daily life. The company's base in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, a few miles from Florence, overlooks the Chianti hills, a distinctive and unique area that makes an unmistakable contribution to the high-quality organic products that we produce.
The company's name is inspired by the ancient Romanesque 'pieve', or parish church. According to the earliest surviving documents dating back to 988 AD, the parish included all the nearby 'poderi' (farms), including the Podere di Pieve itself.
The company is headed by Giorgio and Andrea Mori, who are also the owners of Mori-Tem srl,
a leading producer of olive oil systems and wine-making equipment.

THE WINE CELLAR
The farmhouse was expertly renovated in the 1990s, bringing to light the old underground wine cellars, now carefully restored to showcase their ancient features in a way that respects the area's unique character.
The Olive press
The transformation process is truly innovative: once defoliated, the olives are air-conditioned and brought to the ideal temperature to fully develop their aromas as they are transferred to the washer.
